After failing to win the league last season and being kind of close to Ajax, i think we had to go for it this season. So we needed some new players to come in the team and challenge our startes a lot more than last season. First player brought was the wonder kid Almada, as you will read later, he was worth all the money.
Next we needed a new RB, i find Rasmus NK in Salzburg and got him for a fine price. He is danish and have played one season for Ajax, before we as shipped off to Salzburg. I’m sure he is ready to beat Ajax!
As we sold some Norwegian players, we did off course needed a new one and enter the picture: Patrick Berg, a fine ball winning midfielder. Cáceres is a strong and good heading centerback one of the scouts found other in southamerica. Conell & Singh was on sale and is going out on loan. Früchtl was going to be backup for Karius that came on a free transfer. The same did Özil, Lundstram & Fosu-Mensah, all 3 coming from Premier League. I know Özil is old, but i could not resist trying him.. Lundstram is a player i hope to sell back to a english club for a lot of money due to brexit. Fosu-Mensah is a fineback player to a lot of positions and is of course from Holland.

I did also found 5 players to help my mentor some of the young players at the club.

Transfer out (Summer) →
Albert Gudmundsson €10M → Burnley
Thomas Ouwejan €4M → Antwerp
Fredrik Midtsjø €20M → Arsenal
Jonas Svensson €12M → Newcastle
Marc Stendera €7,5M → Wolfsburg
Jeppe Højbjerg €1,5M → Zuite Waregem
Jordy Clasie €11M → Hoffenheim
Patrik Carlgren €1,5M → Sampdoria
Pantelis Hatzidiakos €10M → Feyenoord
Total cost: €77,5M

I like to make money! So because we speeded €25M, we did need sell some players and get some of the money back. And so we did. 9 players gone for at total sum of €77,5M going to AZ.
One of my goal in this save it to sell for more than a buy and as long as they are Premier League clubs, i’ll be fine it seems.

Loan Out (summer) →
Ernest Poku → Vitesse
Stefano Turati → Vitesse
Adnane El Amrani → Randers
Daniel Beukers → Sønderjyske
Tijs Velthuis → Sønderjyske
Mexx Meerdink → Sønderjyske
Sergio Arribas → Gijon
Tijani Reijnders → Santa Clara
Nico → Leganés
Finn Stam → Pacos De Ferreira
Jorn Berkhourt → Pacos De Ferreira
Kenzo Goudmijn → Sparta
Yusuf Barasi → Cambuur
Luca Connel → Motherwell
Sarpreet Singh → Alavas
Fedde De Jong → Nimes
Soulyman Allouch → København
Philip Zinckernagel → Anderlecht

A lot of the players at the club was too good to play for Jong AZ and not good enough too play for AZ. So you might have one guess what happened to them. Loan out, which mean i dont have to worry about their wage and i make a small profit every month, meanwhile they play, are happy and maybe get even better.

Transfer in (Winter) ←
Simon Kjær €900K ← AC Milan
Oliver Batista Meier €375K ← Bayern München
Bright Arrey-Mbi €275K ← Bayern München
Burak Ínce €1,5M ← Altinordu
Musa Juwara €1,6M ← Bologna
Total cost: €4M

And then we have the winter transfer where a danish legend joined us from Milan. Simon Kjær, danish captain with 118 games for Denmark in game (101 IRL). He is 34 years old, but he do still have great stats and can help mentor the young centerbacks, where i have 2 players from Denmark and Norway in the first squad.
Bayern München wanted to get rid of 2 young talents, fine by me! Take my “money” if you can call €500k that. I hope to sell them for profit in 2 seasons. Burak ìnce was unhappy at Altinordu and do always have room for young talents at AZ, he was loaned out to Hannover right away.
Last Juwara joined us for only €1,6M! I tried to buy him in my first season, where the wanted €30M+ for him, so if Boadu are going to leave us, i already have a backup ready.

Transfer out (Winter) →
Denis Vavro €22M (€28M) → Benfica
Mesut Özil €5M → Schalke 04
Total cost: €33M (over €100m overall this season)

With Kjær joining us, we did end up with too many centerbacks. But my plan was to sell Vavro in summer, but when Benfica and Porto went to war over him, i could not resist selling him now.
Some of you may remember we only gave around €2M for him, which mean we have earned almost €25M on having him at the club for 1,5 seasons. You can expect to see many more deals like that in the future!
Özil.. Fine player, but old and could live up to the expirations.

Loan Out (Winter) →Oliver Batista Meier → Stuttgart
Josa Marsa → Feyenoord
Maxim Gullit → Sparta
Myron Van Brederode → Alavas
Pedro Aleman → Alavas
Burak Ínce → Hannover 96
Mario Gila → Sevilla
Mohamed Taabouni → Vitoria
Bright Arrey-Mbi → Bordeaux
Oliver Batista Meier → Stuttgart

Marsa, Gullit, Van Brederode, Aleman had to go on loan to make place to more u18 players in the Jong AZ squad. Gila had only played a few games and Sevilla wanted to make him first-team player, so no brainer. Taabouni being unhappy again this season, but he ended last season with scoring every second game and did the same for me this season. Sad for him…

We won the league this season and was 1 game away from doing it without a defeat. We scored more goal than any other team, by the defense this season with Karius in goal have been amazing!

So Karius played every 49 games this season, other than him we did rotate a lot this season as you can see.
Thiago Almada it my player of the season with 18 goals and 10 assists in only 23 games. But we have to mention Calvin Stengs coming in with almost the same stats! Myron Boadu did also have af fine season, but he is about top stop his development, so i’m thinking off selling him this season!
Koopmeiners & Stings is hunted by every club in Europe in this moment, together they are worth around €100M, so let’s see what this summer brings…

And the part 2 of games played this season, some of them you may not now, so i have a picture under this where you can see their ability and potential

the 12 young players who got their debuts this season.

What about Jong AZ?
They won their league again! In january i started moving up a lot of my u18 players and loaned out some of the best players from Jong AZ, so they could try playing at a higher level. Meanwhile some of the youth players get to play in the second best division.
Next season i’m thinking about managing my Jong team myself and only with U20 players with a focus on U18 players with big potential. Either-way i’ll sell many players of the Jong AZ to make room for a lot of the u18 squad where we have a lot of talented players (as you can see further down)

Back-to-Back winning the league.

Because we moved up the best players to the first team and some to the Jong team, the u18 team did not win this year. Ajax played with a lot older team, where we played with a u16 team in most games. So i think and hope we are back to winning the under 18 next year again, or else i may have to sack our u19 manager!

2 place for the Under 18 AZ.

And in the under 18 we have a lot of talents, so i have taken 2 screenshots showting the ability and potentials of all the players.

AZ u18 part one
Az u18 part two

As you may remember, i got the board to upgrade some of our facilities last season. This season i got them to expanded the season with 8500 seats making room too around 25000 people in the future. I have check the editor and i can see the max expansion is 30000, so one of my goals is to build a brand new stadium at some time!

Over the last two seasons i’m also trying to find some clubs around the world (Europe at this moment) to work with. So far we have affiliated clubs in Portugal, Austria, Belgium, Spam and one in Holland.
